Hi there. just a quick question that must have been asked and answered somewhere in the forum. I've just bought a Q and found out / remembered how the camera eats batteries, so wondered if there are alternatives available. The Leica ones are about £90 but there must be reliable others. Any info appreciated. Regards Robin.

The same battery is in the Leica Vlux4 and Leica Vlux114.  That means that the Panasonic version of those two cameras also uses the same battery, so the Panasonic version of the battery would no doubt be less expensive.  The Vlux114 and Panasonic Lumix DMC- FZ1000 are virtually the same, and is about US$60 via B&H, vs. about US$90 for the Leica version..

Another vote for the Panasonic.

Nearly 1/2 the price of the Leica.  I’ve had my Q nearly five years and bought the Panasonic battery at the same time.

Both batteries have been discharged/charged numerous times (I alternate them)…the Panasonic performs exactly the same as the Leica.

I purchased this for my Q several years ago.

Cheap but still working fine as is the original battery.  I always recharge and keep the original in the camera but having a couple of spares on hand is nice.

In Serbia we often say: "Don't chasing the devil". Mean, dont play with your Leica asking for trouble.....It is precious camera, high performance, just respect it..Only original battery, original charger. No any experiments with that..Beside that some Leica owners says that the original battery last for more than 10 years.
