I only have Leica SL2 and SL2-S and the only non Leica lens is a Panasonic 70-200/2.8. Does anyone know how the FW can be updated on the lens without a Lumix Camera? I downloaded the FW but Leica Camera does not run the update.

You download the .zip file, unpack the .pfl file and move the .pfl file to the top folder of your SD card. Go to Camera Information>Lens Firmware Version>Start Update

I just tried it with Panasonic 16-35 and SL2-S, and it worked.

Yes I tried this on both the SL2 and SL2-S and the update doesn't initiate. The prompt flashes without any error messages and does not start the FW update for the lens.

Can you show a screen shot of the top-level directory of your SD card?

I actually discovered that I was using the wrong FW file. The web site is not very clear. The right file for the 2.8/70-200 is S-E70200 and not the S-R70200. It worked now and upgraded to version 1.1. But the Camera was not giving any error message, it would simply not initiate the FW upgrade so no screen shot to share on that.

Anyway if 1.1 is the latest FW for that lens, I did it. Not even sure what changes are implemented.
