BlackDoc Posted April 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Me and a friend of mine "normally" are trying to do an early years photo trip somewhere to get out of our offices and have a reason not to be accessible. In ´19 we planned a trip to Ireland, starting in March 2020. With corona all plans to Ireland were killed for the next 3 years .... but in ´23 we finally got our aim... (on the other hand: 2022 Isle of Skye by car was not sooooo bad....) Starting from Dublin we went by car to Limerick, Ring of Kerry including Dingle peninsula, Iveragh peninsula and south of it including Cork. We have entered the Killarney National Park nearly daily and we had rain every day, most of the time coming in our face and it was great. The local Red Ale was fantastic and Parknasilla as a base for some days a recommendation. i will show some of my pics in loose order.... But first of all Ross Castle Killarney National Park - I do like the green umbrella as it was St Patrick's day.... Welcome, dear visitor! EDIT: All pics were taken with the Leica SL-II, Lenses 16-35, 24-90, Sigma 20mm F2.0 Art and 135mm f1.8. Most of them with a polarizer too, some of them with Soft ND. We had our tripod with us but the wind had more than 5 days >100 km/h so just a few pics were taken with tripod.... If you need further information (gear/ locations) just ask....
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! #1 (by the way: the pics are sharp, just click....) stuny Posted April 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2023 Absolutely beautiful. We finally got to Ireland on our 4th try (COVID also), and spent 5 weeks driving all over both Irelands last spring. We found the people, scenery and music to be wonderful in both Irelands, but with an interesting contrast between them, not counting the last 100 years or so of history. One difference was virtually no litter or graffiti (not counting street art) in the South (not so on the North), and the need to convert in my head from kph to mph in the North.
BlackDoc Posted April 4, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted April 4, 2023 Thanks for viewing and the nice words @stuny : our freetime was limited and with this 10 days for the south west of ireland was sufficient. With more time we would have done a trip like yours, "cruising" through Ireland..... But as the connections from Germany (Hamburg) to Ireland are not that kind of bad I would say "I ´ll be back"..... As mentioned we had heavy rain - this pic was taken seconds before the rain on the second day (see the way was flooded, we had the idea of a lot of water, not knowing the rain for the next 10 days, as we had to take off our hiking boots/socks and even trousers to get back to our car on one of our trips.... and before you ask- no pics 😉) the following pic was taken as a bracketing of three pics, post processing in LR (as this workflow with the SL-II is an acceptable way of getting control about the existing dynamic range ....) Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! #2 and as I have mentioned earlier-> by playing with the camera and its technical properties it is not everytime necessary/ possible to use a tripod (here: handheld leaning on a tree 16-35 + polarizer at 16mm, ISO 50 F22 (!) 0,4 sec) #3 Funfact: nearby this location I have found a Sony RX100-III lying on the street. Fully functional. I am working on it to give the cam back as there are usable exif datas....
