As we all, I have several tripods, from super sturdy to travel lite but full workable. Even my smallest and lightest tripod is still in the way if I want to have a really light day and just need the occasionally long exposure from a wall or maybe a nicer selfy with your wife. So I am very often ending up without a tripod but needing one and than starting to play McGyver with my jacket, gloves, shirt, towel, laying around sticks or whatever. I am sure you know the situation 😀 I‘ve looked up many micro tri-pods but never really have been satisfied as they either were not stable or clunky, but for sure never as I imagined them. Now, finally I found a really and suitable one. Super small, light, very simplistic but sturdy. The so called micropod from Novoflex. What I really like is its simplicity and cleverness. For example it does not have any joints. Its legs are to stuck in holes in the base, either in travel- or in use-position. Fast to do, no brake points, no wobble-points etc. It just works. I‘ve gotten the one with ball-head, but you can unscrew the head and just use it with the base, but than there is of course no levelling possible. According to Novoflex it can carry 3kg, which is plenty for the Q2. I‘ve also tried it with the SL2s plus Apo-SC-SL 35, which worked fine in landscape orientation, still sturdy enough but one need to have the leg positions right to keep things stable. The tripod looks small on the pictures, but I was astonished how small it is in reality. Weight with ball-head is 145 Gramms, without whopping 50 Gramms and can carry 5kg without the ball-Head. Very well crafted, as all stuff from Novoflex. And, as a nice adder, it does not cost an arm and a leg. I‘ve paid 52 Euros for the combo. So I am very happy with it and just wanted to share my first impression. Attached some fotos for you. I‘ve just used my iPhone as I had a surgery on Monday and just came yesterday evening home and am still rattled a bit and can not sit for a few days. Like you I found the Leica extremely sturdy and well built...but those legs just didn't fit anywhere conveniently. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
