I use a tripod plate with a QD mount and then adapt wrist or sling straps to that. I no longer use neck straps. Currently using rock and roll wrist straps and Peak Design sling straps with the original hardware replaced with an RRS QD male mount. Change from tripod to wrist or sling takes seconds. No dangly bits on the camera which I despise.

Peak Design's dangly bits (anchors) also bother me much. They remind me of the corks Australians hang on their hats to shoo away flies :).

A very few people on this site have had issues with a lug coming off the camera. I wish to minimise the risk of that happening to me and the camera falling.

I was in Singapore and I borrowed a friend's Nikon D850 and he had a wrist strap attached via what seemed to be a very secure plate and twice the lug started to dislodge and both times I caught the camera.  So I am gun shy about such attachments

I used to have a wrist strap which was simple and effective (approx 10 pounds) but indeed had the issue of not being a neck strap when needed. So used to have a bag and needed always to put camera away when not in use.

I have since learned to wrap a standard strap around my wrist. It works ok and does all scenarios with a single design. Maybe worth exploring this option if you manage to get confident with it saves tons of time. I am using the MM1 neck strap which I love.

I’ve had the same wish as OP. In the end I stopped teasing myself with this wish to change everytime. I also admitted that I do carry a camera, decided to put aside the itch of being seen and judged as a tourist 💪🏼. Because the use of the wrist strap was mainly in combination with the habit to put my camera back in my bag. The best neck strap for me to use also as a wrist strap is the Artisan&Artist silk strap, nice choice of colors too.

I'm using an Oberworth LAHN handstrap connected to the right lug on the M10 with the round split ring (similar to your's below), then I attached a black Peak Design anchor link to the Oberworth ring and one to the left side camera lug. That way I can attach a full PD Slide Light neck strap to it or just go with the relatively compact Oberworth hand strap.

I'd like to be able to use the original Leica strap with Peak Design Anchor but they dont' appear to be compatible. Anyone managed that (so the Leica strap is connected via PD and therefore quick on/off)?

I want to be able to swap a wrist strap out quickly for a neck strap. I was thinking of getting the Peak Design anchor and attaching it to one lug, and then having the neck strap both connected to one lug somehow. Then I could swap the neck strap out for the wrist strap very quickly. I don't, however, love how the peak design anchors look, and I'm not sure if I can attach two straps to one anchor.

Here's my wrist strap:
