Le Chef Posted March 6, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve not used the LCD for any photography but wondered whether for street there might be advantages. People are used to seeing phones held up to photograph so maybe that’s less intrusive. You can more easily see what’s outside the frame and about to walk into it. Anyone here use the LCD for street? Advertisement Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Hi Le Chef, Take a look here LCD for Street Photography. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill_murray Posted March 6, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 6, 2023 I used to use the lcd as a bit of a decoy...(looking at the screen as if chimping the last photo, but actually framing and taking the next photo)...
earleygallery Posted March 6, 2023 Share #3 Posted March 6, 2023 I have a Canon M which you have to use the LCD for and use it mostly for street (although saying that I've not used it for a while!). I've said before I'd love to see a digital 'TLR' - a camera to hold like a TLR with a screen (with hood) on the top and square format sensor. Using a TLR for street, nobody realises you're taking photos!
ianforber Posted March 7, 2023 Share #4 Posted March 7, 2023 I’ve used it once while sat outside a cafe watching the world go by. A bit less obvious than raising the camera to my eye but I’d prably just use my iPhone if I wanted to do it all the time. As you say, all iPhone photographers are invisible these days!
