Is this really a wise thing to do?  I hate to think it, but it is possible some unsavory might see these pictures and decide to track down the poster (not hard in today's world) and steal all the toys.  Also isn't this boasting about one's possessions and a bit tawdry?  I can't see the purpose of this at all. I'd much rather see the results of using our gear.

It's pretty safe to assume that anyone on a Leica form is worth robbing, don't need to know exactly what they have, participation is enough information.  Besides there are plenty of other show me your black paint, bag, rare lens threads that this isn't novel information.  Ironically I think part of the OP's motivation was to find others that have minimal kit as they do rather than ferret out treasure troves.

Am waiting for delivery of my last piece today to complete my holy collection before posting myself.

Ps. If you are worried about being robbed, now is the time to get your cameras insured.  I don't know if its a good deal but cost me < $150 to add mine to my home insurance.

I am truly honored that you would pick this thread to post. It’s very rare. You joined in 2015 and only have 65 posts. A rare honor indeed. 😀

I think at this point everyone has shared everything they own by saying it or sharing a photo or putting it into their profile like you did.

No insurance where I live. None that covers movable items like cameras. I’ve asked every insurer. Even contacted a broker to search for me. Never called me back. It’s mostly a western countries thing. If I was back in the US I would.

Whether we like it or not, a lot of people want to do that - might as well just let them get on with it.

Probably worth de-threading into another conversation but that's interesting.  Not even as a normal household belonging?  i.e not covering damage when out but theft from your home?

What part of the world?  Am moving to South Africa next month and believe its an option there.

I’m in Asia. Even when they have movable items when I ask about cameras they say No. I just gave up. I live in a condo with 24Hr security and key cards everywhere and I’m on a very high floor. It’s 8 floors shy of being a sky scraper. Cameras in every floor. Key cards only work for your floor. So the chances of someone coming in here is 0. The danger is if I’m outside. So I don’t go anywhere dangerous by myself. And why most of my photos are at the park or when I go with my wife to the train station.

I also don’t walk around with fancy billingham bags or anything fancy really. Just me in a t-shirt and jeans and a black square box. I don’t even carry a bag. I’m mostly ignored. The only people I’ve caught looking at me are other photographers at the train station when they see Leica their eyes pop out. Other than that nobody pays attention to me. Mostly “WTF is this guy doing” looks

Next thing is to find travel insurance that would cover it when I go to the US. Let’s see.

Obviously no insurance in the US would cover me since I don’t live in the US.

I can always just ask the Leica store here and see what they say. But they’re very unfriendly and don’t speak English well. I don’t like to go in there.

Honestly. I think Leica should offer worldwide insurance for Leica customers. Partner up with someone. Buy a Leica and have the option to also buy insurance.

m10-r/m10-m.  Both blacked out.

35/50 apo lanthars.  The 50 is amazing, the 35 is also but a little large, considering swapping for a smaller 35.

Pretty much the finest experience and results that money can buy, all purchased second hand for a similar amount to a new m11 body alone.

No insurance here too. It is mostly a US thing AFAIK. I tried it once. Insuring vintage stuff is really hard. Harder than standard antiques like paintings and such. Just because insurance firms lack experts in this area it is impossible to agree on value, and they demand a complete list with values. My collection varies, things are traded and sold, bought in different state all the time. It is impossible to keep up a list approved by their experts and very costly too. So I gave up and just have a general insurance for the house with content.

Strangely enough what I take abroad when traveling is easy to insure as part of my traveling insurance.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have my doubts that Leica thieves are lurking here to try to track down and rob any of us.  It would be much easier and much more lucrative for them to rob or burglarize a Leica store:  https://www.dpreview.com/news/5027177099/leica-store-san-francisco-robbed-at-gunpoint-of-more-than-180k-in-gear

All Leica cameras and lenses have serial numbers; I have been told by a retired police officer that burglars/thieves - in these parts, at least - don't want anything with a serial number on it as it is too easy to track back to them when they sell it (the Leica thieves in San Francisco obviously have a different opinion on that point).  Jewelry and prescription drugs are said to be the most desirable targets for thieves in flyover land.

Regarding burglary and break-ins at your home:  https://www.libertysafe.com/collections/liberty-safes/products/colonial-23  No one is going to carry one of these off or cut through it in less than a full day, possibly longer depending on the safe.

Did I read this right , you purchased an M10R. And an M10 Mono. Plus 2 Apo Voightlander lenses for a price of a new M11 ?
which is approx 9,000 US ?

Roughly, in Canada (as I believe you know) they are $12,300 + tax = $13,900 CAD -> $10,200 USD.  All in I paid ~$11K USD. So a small fudge factor but not much.

wow that is an amazing deal you got, as you know here in the local market this past few months the M10 is selling around the 6,000 dollars M10M is 9000+ and the 2 Voigtlander lenses around 2 K. that's roughly 17K, so you did very well
