marknorton Posted August 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2006 Mainly derived from our musings here, so nothing new...
andybarton Posted August 20, 2006 Share #3 Posted August 20, 2006 Andrew is a regular, if infrequent, poster here and has some extremely useful stuff on his site.
nemeng Posted August 20, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 20, 2006 Mainly derived from our musings here, so nothing new... Not exclusively. Also sourced from rangefinderforum.com and photo.net, as well as private sources. The fact is that aside from those who have actually handled the camera - who aren't talking due to gag-orders - no one knows much about the M8. All will supposedly be revealed on September 15th. cboudier Posted August 20, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 20, 2006 Andrew, Thank you for your web site. As a newbie to the Leica world, I've learn a lot of thing there !
marknorton Posted August 20, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 20, 2006 Not exclusively. Also sourced from rangefinderforum.com and photo.net, as well as private sources. I did use the word "mainly". That implies "not exclusively".
nemeng Posted August 20, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I did use the word "mainly". That implies "not exclusively". ... and also that the majority of the remarks were sourced from here. Which is incorrect. As I noted earlier, the details are sourced from a number of different places - all of which I acknowledge. Sigh - what's the problem? PEBKAC?... :?) Overgaard Posted August 21, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 21, 2006 Those who awaits the M8 might want to read between the lines here: http://barbecuediguana.com "noise levels. very nice. shadow detail. very nice."
Guest smep Posted August 21, 2006 Share #9 Posted August 21, 2006 "pretty sure it was at iso 200 and it was a landscape " I don´t need a M8 for ISO 100 and 200 landscape shoots, the most interesting thing is the performance at high iso (800 and 1600) as the m-system had always been the best for available light and so should be the M8. Let´s hope for the best!
Overgaard Posted August 21, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 21, 2006 The landscape thing was ironic meant, I think. Chris is a street guy working F/1.4 and 1.0. The sample shots of Panasonic L1 here http://www.photoxels.com/panasonic-l1-image-quality.html however at least show to me that Leica/Panasonic has made considerable progess on sensors without large amounts of noise. A D3 looks to be great and hopefully the M8 even greater.
Guest smep Posted August 21, 2006 Share #11 Posted August 21, 2006 I have a wonderful 30x45cm print of Robbie Williams here I took with my D2X at ISO 800. So I would love to hear something positive about high iso from "a street guy working F/1.4 and 1.0."
chrisweeks Posted August 26, 2006 Share #12 Posted August 26, 2006 @smep... i may have one as well ... but not with a d2x!
