I just realized Mr. Funky Voice has no idea what he is talking about.

He is soo clueless and totally ignorant after he was told about his lies on very first day.

He credibility just went zero. Unsubscribing from this dross.

Somehow I don't think he will be bothered by your choice, he's been at it for a while now and most of the time his posts are considered useful.

All I'm seeing is a bunch of Leica diehards desperate to dismiss someone who is not AS diehard.

I took part in that survey and answered completely honestly. I was very happy to see the top % answers all reflected my own opinion.

The main reasons I like Leica is the simplicity, the lack of unnecessary functions that get in your way as a photographer.

If more cameras would ditch the video features and plethora of buttons and switches the more I'd be happy.

All the recent Leica cameras I've had are very simple to set up, then operate - when all you want is a nice camera to take photographs with - my M240, Leica Q and SL.

It's hard to understand how that is characterised as 'clueless and ignorant'.

 What are you writing about?

Dude simply lied what Leica is the only company making digital rangefinders. He got caught on it on first day and still keeps this lie up.

How it is hard to understand what some of us are not accepting blatant lies?

Haters gonna hate... it's so funny and so predictable.

Matt's actually a decent bloke and very knowledgable. More importantly, I've never heard him put anyone else down.

He might be knowledgeable on something for sure. Like how to get paid for wedding photos.

But saying what only Leica makes digital rangefinder is so 1984.

All I see in the comments for that video is him apologizing for forgetting about the PixII, thanking posters for reminding him about it, and saying he'll try and get one for review.

Not sure where you got the idea that he lied about anything.

gotta say, I've always liked his videos. Not sure what's going on on some of those model shooting trips to Poland, but that's none of my business. As far as his views on the gear situation goes, he's always been honest and has always backed up any claim he made.

He is a youtuber..

Expect some mistakes in there..he is only human..

Pixii makes RF's..but with such a short history...who really knows how long they will be around..

And.. perhaps... not worth much of a mention as they are not a major player in this regard.

They dont even make lenses..not even 1..that is specific to their camera line..or farm out a lens for someone else to make for them..

How can they be taken seriously as a major player in RF manufacture?

If they go out of business..they will be quickly forgotten.

Personal attacks on physical attributes such as a 'funky voice' are surely not welcome on the forum, even if meant light-heartedly.  This fellow is from my home town, and we all talk like that (albeit with varying levels of croak).

After getting bombed horribly in some of the worst blitzes of World War 2*, undeterred, we went on to win the FA Cup in 1987.  This streak of success continued in 2021 when we were awarded UK's "City of Culture"  ...despite none of it having existed there since the late 1970's (when we produced perhaps the greatest band of all time 'The Specials').

What I am really trying to say is that we try our best and, luckily for Matt, are an extremely resilient bunch.

-----------------

*Off-Topic Side note:  The phrase "sent to Coventry" (commonly used in UK to mean that no-one will talk to you) stems from this time - the allies had broken the German code and therefore knew that attacks were imminent on Coventry.  However, to increase air defences there would have alerted the Germans to the fact that the code had been broken.  So the city was sacrificed, and subsequently flattened by some of the most extensive bombing of the war.

I hate to pop your bubble, but given that the phrase "sent to Coventry" in the usage of "shunned for misbehavior" was first recorded in 1765 (and probably used even earlier), that story about its origin is improbable.

It is certainly true that protecting intel "means and sources" by occasionally refusing to act on the intel provided is fairly common practice. Just an extension of "In War, Truth must be protected by a bodyguard of Lies." Whether that happened to Coventry is highly debated by historians.

Thanks for the clarification about “sent to coventry”, I had meant to write “may stem from” as I wasn’t sure. Appreciate the heads up as I have often wondered.

I wasn’t aware that there was any debate about the intel sacrifice, so that’s interesting also.  There certainly isn’t any such even-handeness on the many local plaques in the areas that were devastated by some of the heaviest bombing seen by the Luftwaffe

I am also pleased that we agree about  The Specials 😎😊

He didn't 'lie', he forgot to mention Pixii. Really? You are going to dismiss someone and slag them off publicly because they forgot to mention an extremely niche camera that practically no one has ever heard of?????

I think he just genuinely forgot. He could have gone back and reshot the video, but Pixii wasn't really the point of the video or the point he was trying to make - which is that he often chooses Voigtlander over Leica LENSES.
