Is LUF based in Germany? LUF won't load at home anymore in the USA. Using Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro as router

I never had an issue accessing the LUF at home until this week.  Nothing has changed and I restarted the router.  Under Firewall & Security, I've always blocked 10 countries, including Germany, based on the recommendations found on the USA Ubiquiti forums as prone to having malicious attacks originate from.  I am at work now so can post now but should I take Germany off the Country Restriction list?  Other European countries that are suggested to be blocked include Italy, Russia, Ukraine, and the Netherlands.

I am also accessing sites based in Germany like Hedeco for on camera meters, Magicflex camera for Rollei and Filmomat but they are loading fine.  I am not computer educated but does that mean those sites don't allow identification of their country of origin, sort of like a VPN?

This Ubiquiti?

Of all the countries in the world, Germany would be in the bottom five on my list of untrustworthy domains.

And, yes, LUF is hosted in Germany.

I did some research: according to Kaspersky Lab, the Netherlands is the #4 most reliable internet country in the world and I suspect Germany is not far behind. In fact, the Internet accessibility, stability and safety  is one of the reasons that major Data Centers  find these countries prime places to settle.
Blocking countries is useless anyway as it is the simplest matter in the world to use a VPN or even a series of VPNs to mask the origin of a website. If a hacker wished to harm you the attack would seem to come from inside the USA and you would need sophisticated  tools to sniff him out, if at all.

I agree that it seemed too simplistic to block entire countries as a strategy to avoid nasty players.  I am however keeping China and Russia blocked out of principle.  😀   My access is again restored after removing Germany from the blocked list.
