Which is the M mount lens that has a rendering as close as possible to my Canon EF 50mm 1.2 L?

Looking at your pictures (beautiful pictures by the way!!), I think the best options you have are:

35 Summilux ASPH (as you mentioned)

50 Summilux pre-ASPH OR Noctilux f0.95 (I think the f1 or f1.2 might be a bit too dreamy for what you are looking for tbh)

75mm Summilux pre-ASPH (probably the most beautiful rendering of all Leica lenses; too big though but if you are coming from Canon that should be ok)

I had 50L EF for years, front became loose because it was daily runner. Apparently entire front part is mounted to the lens block ... via sticky gasket.

Canon Canada was not able to affix it as tight as it was...

I'm not sure what you are trying to replicate. Your copy examples seems to be more emotionally attached than else.

I just looked at copy's photo I used to have and .... same. :)

IMO, You don't have to be limited to Leica only brand. I hear a lot of good from professionals who are using Cosina's Voightlander 50mm M mount lenses.

One thing to consider, Leica sensors are not as soft and Canon's stubbornness on AA filters. To me it was sharp enough to sell all Leica lenses and keep Jupiter-3 and Canon 50 1.8 LTM. :)

OP was referring to the 'look' or rendering, not color and contrast etc, which cannot be achieved through editing.

Forum police, a5m, changing those parameter is changing the look/rendering.  Educate yourself before jumping others, it has no business with you about what I post.

You can use any modern leica lenses shooting RAW, then use editors to lower the contrast, clarity, texture, dehaze, vibrance and saturation.  You should be able to replicate that look.  The color fringing is harder to add, but you should appreciate that.

If you aren't into editing software, I believe using vintage M43 or M mount lenses should do without too much editing.

I already tend to desaturate a bit the RAW "stock color", I kinda dislike oversaturated photos, in general

Yeah, I may get the 35 ASPH and the 50 lux preASPH v2 or v3, when I have the money. About very big lenses... the ergonomics of Leica M asks for tinier lenses, but still, it's not going to be a deal breaker since it's going to be a specialty lens to take only when I want to take those kind of photos. For daily "true to life" photos I was thinking to get older Leica 35mm 3.5 and 50mm 3.5

I have the Canon 50mm 1.4 ltm, very nice especially on the Monochrom, but imo it lacks that "bite" on the focus point

Lol what? Focus transition and plane separation i.e. rendering can be changed through editing? 😂 Was just an FYI since you missed OP's point. Shouldn't be on a public forum if you're this sensitive.

This lens has flows on color for sure. I turned it down from get go. It was labeled as Japanese Lux by bunch of clueless.

I'll keep it for the Monochrom with the 35 Nokton 1.4 II SC.

For color I'll get something better, probably next fall (I already spent too much this year to get into the M system!):

I both want "dark" 35 and 50 with nice rendering and lower contrast for zone focusing (so I was thinking of some old Leica 35mm 3.5 and 50mm 2.8 or 3.5) and something more modern like 35 FLE and 50 lux (preASPH or not, I'll see).

For the lens kinda matching the 50 L, Idk, I may give a tryto the 50 Nokton 1.2, should be cheap enough to try when found used and easy enough to resell if I don't like it.
