There's a subtle appeal about this image, butI can't figure our what it is.

She has a directness in her gaze showing confidence, yet portraying behind the surface, a certain empathy.  The progression of the hair lightening as it falls on her shoulders, the sense of style that is restrained but tasteful are just some of the things that makes this portrait compelling.

Marc, I think this is one of your best. It's an instantaneous classic. Great lighting, perfect background, wonderful straight on expression with intensity and confidence in her eyes. I could see this hanging in any country's national portrait gallery. Best Regards, Brent

Thank you very much Brent! You really made my day! I also like this portrait a lot. It was one of the few moments where you look through the viewfinder and you feel that it was a special moment

Wonderful expression! A tad soft though around the eyes for my eyes?

Thank you very much, i am happy that you also like her expression. Maybe if you click on the photo there should be a sharper version. But also keep in mind that the lens is from 1959 and for sure it is not as sharp as the latest version of the Summilux

Soft?? What monitor are you viewing on?

I see it soft as well.  The focus point seems to be on the hair strands on her right (our left)  Not that it affects the quality of the image at all as it is beautifully effective.  I have this same camera and lens combination and it works really well.  Even better with the 90 APo and the 75 CV 1.5

I don't see it as razor sharp in terms of what something like the 50 APO would produce, but I can count her eyelashes even viewing on my phone screen.
