Pasting window paper cutouts is a traditional Chinese custom. During the Chinese New Year, people adorn their windows with these handmade paper cuttings. The most traditional ones are made from red xuan paper, with craftsmen using scissors to create auspicious characters and patterns by hand. These decorations are placed on windows during the spring season to wish for a smooth and prosperous year ahead. I captured this moment using my Leica M Monochrome black-and-white camera when my wife was putting up the paper cutouts. The sunlight cast a beautiful silhouette of the cutout on the white wall beside the window.

Abandoned Wedding Photography Cabin

This place was once a photography base for a wedding photography company. However, the three-year pandemic brought significant changes to people's lives, leading to a sharp decline in economic income. As price competition in the wedding photography industry intensified, many companies went out of business. This small wooden cabin was one of their shooting locations, now abandoned after the company’s closure.
