Snipe10 Posted January 9, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thinking of picking up a new M10R and see that the new M10P cost more. Why? I thought the R was more desirable than the P due to the upgrades. This is my first M so I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Have a Q2M now. Thanks for putting up with me as I'm new to rangefinders.
Advertisement Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Hi Snipe10, Take a look here Why is the M10P cost more than the M10R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted January 9, 2023 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2023 Where are you seeing an M10-P for more than an M10-R? And used, or new? (The basic M10-P is no longer being made) There are a couple of limited edition versions of the M10-P, with special paint or markings, that cost more than a "regular" M10-P (e.g. limited edition version for the 100th anniversary of the ASC - American Society of Cinematographers) - and more than the M10-R. But they are special and rare, and priced as such. I do note some used M10-R cameras selling at a prices about the same as the regular used M10-Ps ($US 6000±).....I suspect that a lot of them were traded in for M11's last year, so there may be a temporary glut on the used market. The "-P" cameras always have some extra value (for the right customer) due to no glaring red-dot 🔴 logo on the front, and having instead the classic pre-1980-style Leica script engraved on the top.
Snipe10 Posted January 9, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted January 9, 2023 I saw it on Rangefinder HK's site, A few hundred more for the P than the R. I just found a R for $4K, certified, in black lacquer so I'll probably go that route. thanks,
