Advertisement Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Hi StS, Take a look here Acropolis hill (with Piraeus harbour in the background).. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hepcat Posted January 8, 2023 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2023 That's a tough call. As a casual viewer who is looking at the scene for the first time, I think the color version provides more information.
stuny Posted January 8, 2023 Share #3 Posted January 8, 2023 Both are lovely, but I prefer the B*W. Maybe I feel that way since I've seen the view live and in color, so I dont need the extra information
war Posted January 8, 2023 Share #4 Posted January 8, 2023 The whole set is really well done. I prefer all of the black and whites for study, but the color shot provides much more contextual information. Had photographs been taken when the Acropolis was built only color reproduction would have properly shown the polychrome color schemes of the temples. Too late for that!
M11 for me Posted January 8, 2023 Share #5 Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) Wonderfull images. For me its very hard to decide. I like B/W images but in your sceene in Athens to me the colours are very important. They are part of that sceene. And I have never been there. Plus the light is great. I would go for the colours. Maybe I would cut off the top . . . down to the line where the shade starts horizontaly (but you have the harbour even in the title of this thread so it might be important to you) Edited January 8, 2023 by M11 for me

stray cat Posted January 10, 2023 Share #7 Posted January 10, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stefan, your Acropolis pictures 1 & 2 are both outstanding. I prefer #1 as I like the context of the rest of the city and also the arrangement of people around the temple. I also much prefer it in black and white. But chapeau for truly outstanding work.
erl Posted January 12, 2023 Share #8 Posted January 12, 2023 Stefan, since these days the Acropolis is such a romantic icon, I feel B&W adds that extra bit excitement because it always invokes some imagination. Either way, great pics. Wish I could have been there.
StS Posted January 14, 2023 Author Share #9 Posted January 14, 2023 Thank you very much, Phil and John. The Challenges are not the same without you, John, but on the other side, this takes out very serious competition All the best Stefan
Alberti Posted January 22, 2023 Share #10 Posted January 22, 2023 I definitely like #2. The first one is too light to my taste. The second one, I can imagine where the standpoint is. Makes me want to return. 🙄
