This in comparison with the Sonnar formula lenses that I often use. On those, I have one shimmed to account for focus shift for an Orange filter.

Oh 😄  I find the text in photo 2 not amazingly sharp though

The text is engraved into the Marble and painted. This is the 100% crop. This is hand-held at 1/125th, not tripod mounted. Focus agrees with the RF, using a 1.25x magnifier. I have other lenses that would need compensation with the Red filter used. I used a Red filter to reduce green reflections from the surrounding foliage- which helped bring out the contrast of the black marble monuments.

Although it is almost a vintage camera, I still love the Mono I. Sometimes it drives me crazy and I hate it, sometimes I think that is one of the best cameras of the world and I love it.

Interesting, I don’t know that experience with the MM1.

I cases with very strong contrasts (light/shadows) it is not always very easy. And sometimes the photo looks better on the rear screen as on my PC. But in these cases I try different exposures.

Oh yes I see. Strong contrast means mostly much light too, so in summer I mostly have the orange filter on, which lowers the horse’s temperament a bit. Strong contrast in theatre has thus far been not been a problem. And indeed, it is sometime difficult to attain the tonal scale that was visible on the screen during picture taking. But in general I wouldn’t dare to be angry on this camera, which I do allow myself with the SL, which doesn’t command much respect.
