I have enjoyed "collecting" over the years but it's kind of silly and none of my potential heirs want any of it. So I'd rather it go to people who would use it. My asking price for the M9M is a little high but it's in excellent condition, includes some extras... and I don't have to sell it. Did it sell Tim? I was thinking of putting mine on the market too because like you I have the M10M, the M10P plus I've also got the M10D as well so it all felt like too much "stuff". But then a friend in Cape Town asked to borrow the M9M for a long term project and I thought "why not". It's sort of like selling it but it's on a long return string if I weaken and want to pull it back!

evikne Posted March 27, 2021 Share #3375 Posted March 27, 2021 I've been browsing through three years of photos in this thread now, and I've discovered that I think I actually enjoy these photos even more than those from the new M10-M. Is it just me who thinks that this sensor has something special?

Is it just me who thinks that this sensor has something special? I`m lucky enough to own both cameras and I made plenty of comparison shots to find out the difference between the two. Actually I couldn`t find any regarding the image quality when shot in normal light conditions. Some say, the CCD sensor is more filmlike but that`s not my experience. The M10M is far superior when it comes to low light situations and when it comes to highlight recovery. The ISO capabilities are excellent. And you have the body of the M10, the monitor, the buffer, the handling. The higher solution of the M10M is of minor importance, in this regard the M9M is very satisfying. Last but not least it`s the photographer, who makes the difference more than anything else.

Maybe it's just imagination that the CCD sensor has some "magic", but I guess it's much the same as with the discussion around the M9 vs M10 sensor. Many people seem to prefer the former, despite the obvious advantages of the latter. Anyway, I've begun to enjoy B&W images more and more, and I'm starting to wonder if my next camera will be a Monochrome …

It would be nice to see how Leica’s APO50 does this, but I take it that the alarm bell would have been ringed already on LUF, if red light weren’t in focus with this lens.
