Armando Jorge Posted January 5, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted January 5, 2023 The lens is a Leica Elmar-C 90mm f/4. By mistake I didn't put it in the title In the image it is wide open at f/4. As you can see, the diaphragm blades still appear Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! dpitt Posted January 5, 2023 Share #6 Posted January 5, 2023 You're welcome. It's a great lens. One of the bargain Leica's for the performance. Enjoy!
Sonnelacht Posted January 5, 2023 Share #7 Posted January 5, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Your lens is fine. That`s how it was delivered! The problems with the CL-Lenses are the rubber sunshades. When they spent years collapsed they will be broken. Try to get new old stock ones, perhaps at Leica CS. The number for the oroginal sunshade was 4/90 - 5.5 12 517. The lens should not used without.

Thanks I'm really enjoying the Leica. It's a new experience after having used other good film cameras from other brands. I really like the look of the photographs that the Leica Summicron-C 40mm f/2 mounted on the Leica CL produces. As I liked it so much, now I completed the C series with 90mm Elmar-C Edited January 5, 2023 by Armando Jorge

I put some vaseline on them to soften the rubber. They are beautiful

Leica states the C lenses do not work on the M bodies, but my C lenses get more use on my M2. Any M rangefinder is a big improvement on the CL RF. And I had the 40-C modified to bring up the 35mm frames on M camera's (it will bring up the 50mm lines out of the box). The 35 mm frame really works better than expected because is on the small side for real 35mm lenses anyway. With the added 6 bit code, my 40-C is now an ideal companion for the M8 and M9. My 90 Elmar C is often used as a very compact "180 mm tele" on my mirrorless Panasonic GX8.
