The only reason I'm posting these two images is to point out how stupid some people are. Just a couple of days after this lake froze over the temperatures went way up and have mostly stayed above freezing for about a week now. There have been numerous warnings telling people to stay off the lake because the ice is very unsafe. Most people have taken the advice, but there's always one, which is why I shot this and am posting it. The second image is a severe crop of the first and shows somebody who thinks catching a fish is more important than his life.

More like stupidity than insanity, a prime candidate for a Darwin Award.

BTW great tones in the 1st image.

I agree with Mike.

While stationed in North Dakota I noticed that in a number of small towns in ND and northern MN would push an old clunker car out onto the ice, tethered to the shore.  The town's people would bet on what day the car would fall though the ice, no doubt polluting the body of water with fuel and oil.  Yesterday I saw an Instagram video of a man driving on a frozen lake in his Bimmer, playing around with skidding.  The car fell though the ice, and the driver escaped through the hatchback.

As comedian Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid."

I hope his car insurance has a brown brains exclusion.
