I don't see much there in the big scheme of things for improvements for still shooters.   I just bought an S5 as a backup to my S1 on the clearance deal with the 85mm f/1.8 for $1500.  The lens arrived.  The body is supposed to be here on Jan 3rd.

Unfortunately Panasonic does not hear people. We've been asking all this time that we need 4K 60 from a full sensor because with apc crop that's a lot of trouble with optics. For filming this is simply unsuitable. Who needs this camera if the same thing stays again? Really for 3 years Panasonic could not invent how to make a reading from a full sensor? It's just incredible, we've been waiting for this second update to come out and it's useless. That's just terrible. This is probably because they left an old sensor that doesn't allow for a full sensor reading.

Habe mir gerade mal das 60 minutiges YT Video von Krolop & Gerst reingezogen.
Die S2ii ist schon eine spannende Kamera.
Ob Leica den gleichen Sensor bei der nächsten SL Generation einsetzen wird? 
Vielleicht ja für eine SL3-s, die SL3 wird bestimmt mehr Hubraum haben.

Der Prozessor sollte sicher in den neuen Leicas verbaut werden. Ob am Ende auch der gleiche AF kommt, wie bei der S5II wird man sehen.

Wichtig war, dass Panasonic liefert, ansonsten hätte man langsam den L-Mount aufs Abstellens stellen können. Die neue S5II ist technisch und preislich wirklich ganz vorne mit dabei, für 1899€ mit der Trade-In Aktion bekommt man eine hervorragende Kamera.
