Thank you for the tip. Apart from the occasional flying seagull, the sky stays uninteresting, though, even when I apply a strong Yellow filter in post processing as below:

Well, it was certainly worth a try, the structures of the rest of the pictures would have been strong enough to support a black-and-white picture. B/W landscapes appear to rely on clouds, in my perception.

Adding a pictures of the surfers as a reference (at the other side of the pier for all hobby-Holmeses and oceanographers).
