Wifi mode setting won't stick (reverts to 2.4ghz)

Hi,

I'm wondering if this is just my camera or not: when I set the wifi mode to 5ghz, it will always reset to 2.4ghz after restarting the camera.

I don't know what mine is set at but it connects every time I turn it on.  Is yours connecting?  If so...............

i have always set to 5Ghz, though less coverage than 2.4Ghz but i felt most table  and it always sticked to 5Ghz... however i havent used mine to notice if there's a change in the latest firmware if that's the case with you

5Ghz is the way to go, to download a raw file it is 24sec, over the 2.4Ghz with time of 1min and 15sec.

If you have profile activated it needs to be saved in a profile, Leica base profile is 2.4ghz

I’m aware it’s the way to go, that’s why I tried to set it to 5g

I've had this issue since I bought the camera about a month ago, the latest firmware update did not fix it.

I don’t use profiles.

so it looks like it’s just my camera?

I’ve now tried saving a profile with mode set to 5ghz. It still reverts to 2.4 when rebooting the camera(changing no settings). Selecting the profile after booting does set the mode to 5ghz again, but the situation seems the same as when I had no profiles.

That’s weird, i dont use profile, but it always sticks with 5ghz though

I got a reply from Leica support saying:

“There is an issue in firmware 1.6: The camera does not store settings and user profiles. We are aware of this and we are working on a fix via a firmware update.”

Ahh ok i watched a youtube the big negative if not mistaken, his m11 becomes forgetful like after a restart, lost all the settings, not just wifi, like it reverts back to original settings, the camera was sent back to reset something i suppose, the firmware

i think he lives in germany so yeah sending it back is easier, hope next firmware is sooner to sort your problem
