Hey guys, 
I have a real problem. After the successful 1.6 update, my M11 just doesn't save any settings anymore.
No matter what I change whether it is the DNG size or Exposure Compensation none of it is preserved after I turn off the camera. 
Only the settings I had before the update are loaded. I have already reset the camera but that didn't help either.
I therefore ask for help. I've sent an email to Leica's software department but got no response except for an automated reply. 
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this or get back to the old firmware?

Not an issue here. You may want to try to reset the camera to factory defaults - that may fix it.

Thanks for the reply, but as I wrote, I have done this and the factory settings are now my old custom settings from firmware 1.5.

Yes you mentioned the reset...  I responded too fast... 🙂  just checking: I assume you also formatted internal memory + SD Card before you did the reset?

I have already reset several times once with sd card once without. once with format both in+ext media. 
To be on the safe side I did it again. 
The old settings remain. 

I can access/load other profiles but they are reset like everything else. 

Is there perhaps a secret developer reset you could make? Maybe something like a force reinstall of the firmware?

Just a tip FWIW. Save your user profiles to your SD card to begin wish. They will be stored in a file called settings.lcse. Then remove the card and save this file to a PC or another volume. Now reset the camera including the user profiles. Format the card in the camera and tell us what happens.

I have problem with the LD option， every time I close it on the menu（switch to NO LD）； reboot the camera ， it comes back to AUTO LD

I did this before I reset.

looks like the problem can only be solved by a software developer at leica.....yay

Fuji had this problem for some cameras not for others. My XT-3 it had that same problem, but others' did not - it also later sorted itself following another update. This post may not help other than to show it it not exclusive to Leica.

Sorry, that is not true, at least not for Nikon Z9 cameras. I updated from Firmware 2.11 to 3.00, encountered a rare problem (Nikon is currently working on a fix), and was advised to "update" the camera to 2.1 again, which I did. The older version is still available on the Nikon server. And as to update at all, the Nikon Z9 AF has been much improved among other changes in the course of a few updates. So IMHO updates can be very useful. Many cameras nowadays come with software that has not been tested enough prior to release, which means the customer is the new beta user. With my Leica M10 and M11 I just love the perspective control feature which came by update of the firmware only, among other new features or fixes (my M11 hasn't crashed once since I use 1.6.0.0

Together with the support is at least now clear where the error comes from. All profiles created with firmware 1.5 can not be deleted from version 1.6 on my camera and on the camera of the support staff. 
Means since the default profile is a 1.5 profile it can not be overwritten. 

I have tried to overwrite it with 1.6 profiles of another M11 but this does not work because the basic profile remains 1.5 and is not overwritten. 

The only solution is to send the camera in and have the complete firmware overwritten.

Strange that i keeps any user profile after formatting and a full camera reset.

will probably take a while, since certainly only people are affected who have bought an M11 in October until now and have created a profile with the 1.5. 

I would have gladly waived the error to have since I had the camera only a month in use.
