Have you noticed that the M11 gets "warm to hot" after much use?

I've noticed this with M10-P and CL models, they were both returned.  The M10-P was put on intervelometer and shot continuously, I am thinking the camera was not made to be used for lengthy sessions despite the feature availability.   The CL was normal use, my hands hurt from the heat.  No history with the M11.

You may wish to try another battery to see if it comes from it.

I have never had a Leica battery that gets hot with use.  It seems to me that would be a sign of a defective battery.

I think all batteries get warm with use.  Whether we all have the same definition of hot is another question. Have you checked the temperature of the battery when warm/hot? Mine heat up a little but I keep my cameras on power-save mode so they shut down in 2 minutes between shots so that probably keeps them cooler.

Mine gets warm (mid to high 30s- thats C not F) in hot weather, in cold climates it gets luck warm after much use. 

I've not long got back from touring France and Middle East, when temps where in the mid 30s it got mildly warm but nothing to alarming. My summer time temps where I work average mid 40s, it gets warm enough that I shut it down sometimes, but has never come up with an alarm......yet.

You will experience a LOT more hot pixels when it starts getting warm, that is if you're doing long exposures, lightning in my example.

Temps at work measured with temp gun, I've been meaning to get my thermographic gun out and take some picks when it gets to the mid 30s!!

M11 gets hotter than my Sony's or my mates Cannon's in same conditions.
