menos I M6 Posted September 13, 2010 Share #401 Posted September 13, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Excuseme, what is the "flare fix" you use in the rangefinder? I used to patch a small piece of tape in the middle of the light intake window of my classic M6 and 0.85 M7. This does dim the frame lines unfortunately, but makes the flare issue, these two rangefinders have, a lot less problematic in low light. In low light the then dimmed bright lines are still clearly visible, but the finder has much less flare.

Adrian Lord Posted September 15, 2010 Share #404 Posted September 15, 2010 ...good news and felicitations, Adrian Lord. Question - does touring California really destroy M2s? Really?? Thank you Aesop! Touring California per se may not, but someone taking an M2 for a ride on a carousel certainly does!
mikebidwell Posted September 16, 2010 Share #405 Posted September 16, 2010 ...good to hear the ol' M6 is back and doing what it was designed to do, Mike - in future, it is worth remembering that even the best tools need regular servicing. Yep, take your point however I didn't buy expecting it to have a fault. Then I'm sure the guy who originally part/exed it knew there was a problem with, perhaps thats why he chopped it in. However it was an intermittent fault which had the M technician and Nobby Clark at Leica MK scratching their heads because it only manifested itself when shooting under certain light conditions and not on every frame . Still its back and working like a dream

braza2013 Posted November 5, 2010 Share #416 Posted November 5, 2010 I've had an M8 for a year. It was my first rangefinder. Two days ago I bought this M6 second hand. And it all fell into place. The sound of the shutter. The feel of the camera in my hand. The balance. The 35mm frame lines extending almost to the edge of the viewfinder. Inserting the film. Film! Knowing that within this body of brass resides my pictures, and it will take days, maybe weeks before I know how they look like. Thinking before I shoot. Ordering chemicals and a change bag to process myself for the first time in my life. How calm I feel! The M8 will have to go. I love my M6.
menos I M6 Posted December 3, 2010 Share #417 Posted December 3, 2010 This M6 was actually the camera, that started it all for me regarding rangefinders: (But I love my M7 a bit more, I have too say, although the M6 feels better)
