ArtZ Posted October 8, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 8, 2007 thats the filter size for the WATE with leica filter holder right? thought you were using John's filter adapter and E49 IR filter Yes, I use the Milich adapter for my WATE. I ordered a 67mm + the filter holder with my second M8 to trade with a friend who is looking for it. Nobody has seen this on sale in the Leica Shop and Leice dealers in France. . marknorton Posted October 8, 2007 Share #10 Posted October 8, 2007 I received a 67mm filter as part of the free filter program. I'm interested in one of these lenses as well because even with the filter adapter, the WATE workflow is compromised but to my mind this lens is compromised as well - no rangefinder coupling, 1/3 aperture clicks, yet more odd filter stuff, no coding and so on. It's clearly a capable lens, the f2.8 is a major attraction, and licensing the design - maybe even subcontracting out the manufacture - would be interesting. I feel sure Leica have one in bits... Guest guy_mancuso Posted October 8, 2007 Share #14 Posted October 8, 2007 LOL . I got a e-mail from a friend who has a Zeiss 15mm 2.8 that is shipping ti to me to try out. So i want to see what this lens is all about. Funny thing is a forgot completley that i had a B+W brand spanking new IR filter , so I just ordered a step down ring from 72mm to 67. Hopefully it will not vignette and worth trying it out. But if it works and i decide to go with the Zeiss i will want to buy a leica 67mm. from the WATE experience and use the leica filters work better on these very wide lenses

Guest guy_mancuso Posted October 9, 2007 Share #19 Posted October 9, 2007 Looks like a lot of wild glass is going to Yosemite so we promise everyone to give our thoughts on some of this . Be interesting to run some tests that i have been wanting to try .Leica 15 R which is a amazing lens, Leica 21,24, Zeiss 15 and a few other wild things. Between Jack , Woody and me which we are there a day early there is some nice tests that we can run. Look forward to it. This trip i am bringing the OLY 24 shift too on the M8 so that may be a cool lens to show off to the LUF. All fun stuff
