wilfredo Posted August 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This was a difficult shot to get, I only managed two frames because of the crowds. Taken at the Puerto Rican Day parade in N.Y.C. this past June with my Leica M7. I believe I was using the 35mm ASPH Summicron for this shot. stuny Posted August 18, 2006 Share #3 Posted August 18, 2006 Wilfredo - The 45% angle greatly enhances this. Abetting the results are the storng tonal contrasts, the focus and the subject.
Gerard K Posted August 18, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2006 Wilfredo, Wow! How many flags?! Super bright and contrasty, like that you can see the street signs. It gives you a sense of place. Perhaps you could try using the blur tool in PS as the people in the background are a little distracting. Cheers, Gerard.
wilfredo Posted August 18, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted August 18, 2006 Thanks Stuart and Gerard for looking. Gerard, I've already used the Blur tool in PS for the people in the background but that is not too apparent here because the subject does not appear very focused, although he does on the original file. One of those internet things I guess. This is a very busy shot, albeit not one of my favorites. I have no idea how many flags this man was carrying but he seems to be in a state of elation from the experience. He is quite unique in his patriotic fervor! Cheers, Wilfredo+
