pvenables Posted August 16, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) My wife, looking a little worse for wear the morning after a wedding that lasted very late into the night, and perhaps the hottest hotel room we've ever encountered. The cafe we're in is Caffe Amici on the Aldwych in London [well worth a try]. I posted this picture, taken on Provia 100F film, scanned in greyscale and downscaled to websize, because I think it shows what nice images the 50 2.8 Elmar-M is capable of. robert_parker Posted August 16, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2006 Paul - I've walked right past the very place - I like the photograph but I do wish your wife had smiled !!
pvenables Posted August 16, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted August 16, 2006 Thanks Robert, a longer-than-usual wait for a bacon sandwich and complete dessication due to steaming hotel room had rather taken the edge off of her mood...She does smile. jmr Posted August 17, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2006 Paul, nice shot, I'm sure your wife will laugh about the experience leading up to it, eventually. Did you consider adjusting the levels at all, it seems rather grey to me?
pvenables Posted August 17, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted August 17, 2006 John I scan onto a laptop. The picture looked fine on that, but on my work system this morning [on a different screen] I agree it does look a little murky. When I get a printer I will [hopefully] be able to mess around with the screen settings on the laptop to get roughly the same print as I see on screen, and hopefully then the pictures I post should be a little better... Thanks for your input. Paul
leicamann Posted August 17, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Still its well done, you do need to find the "white point" in this image..then everything will snap together. Thanks for your post.. regards, Leicamann
