Printmaker Posted October 27, 2022 Share #1  Posted October 27, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’m processing a few thousand photos shot with my 28 Elmarit ASPH I and Camera Raw is showing lens data for the 90 Thambar. This results in severe vignette. Looking at the back of my M10 it also shows 90 mm. I’m sure it was fine before I sent it in for a CLA and rangefinder adjustment because older shots show up with the right data/correction. Anyone else has had the same experience? Sorry no but there is only one coding pit difference between the Elmarit 28/2.8 asph v1 (011100) and the Thambar 90/2.2 (001100) so you may wish to clean out any possible dirt from the coding areas of the lens or the camera. 3
Printmaker Posted October 29, 2022 Author Share #3  Posted October 29, 2022 Well I cleaned the code reading window on my M10 and cleaned the lens code. I also downloaded this latest software. Nothing works. Lens still reads as a 90 Thambar. Oh well, I’ll just turn off the lens detection and apply it in LR or PS when using the 28. No big deal just an extra step. I’m looking at a 28-70 lens for my SL and might trade the Elmarit for a Summicron M. Then again, I don’t use my 28 all that often. Probably just keep it. The solution i found for the M11 consisted in creating a special user profile for uncoded lenses but your problem is not the same apparently. Not sure it may help but did you try to reset the camera?

Do you just switch profiles when mounting an uncoded lens, and that resets detection to off? I just turn it off when I switch from a coded Leica to an uncoded ZM or VM lens. Works fine too if you don't mind to use the main menu. To avoid that i have just created a user profile with lens detection off for uncoded lenses. I call it "unco" and i choose it each time i use an uncoded lens on the M11. Edited October 29, 2022 by lct
