stuny Posted September 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 20, 2007 Pete - Barbara is of the opinion that Ferraris should be red. The yellow shield just indicates it is for Scuderia Ferrari, Enzo's racing team, and clearly before he began his own manufacturing of autos. Alfa contracted with him to run their racing organization, so James’ supposition that this is an Alfa is probably correct, even though it too is not in Italian racing red. Very nice study. elansprint72 Posted September 21, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted September 21, 2007 Yes it is indeed and Alfa, well spotted! I'm not sure when the "national" racing colours were adopted but I do know that it was not universal. Italian "racing red" was a very dark muddy colour, nothing like the various brighter Ferrari colours we have become accustomed to. Here is a '75 shot of a different Ferrari team Alfa. stuny Posted September 21, 2007 Share #6 Posted September 21, 2007 Pete - Excellent, and it feels very "period", with the exception of the ambulance. Please keep them coming.
