Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Okay we have the one lens thread which we have seen this before but everybody let's be real honest here, your wife or spouse is not listening Okay. Most of us have two or more lenses and the reality is i could not survive with one , it would just be too limiting in many ways and it many shots. I like different looks and lens prespectives. no way in the world you can get a 75 to look like a 21mm, not going to happen. But if i really had to get down to two , three would be better but two is workable for me with a 28 and 75. Okay let it rip, what two now.
Advertisement Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Hi Guest guy_mancuso, Take a look here Two lens/ It had to happen. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 19, 2007 21-35 or 35-90 depending on where I am going...
wparsonsgisnet Posted September 19, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 19, 2007 24 and 75'lux! (on the M8) Can't beat this combo. Don't forget the STEER and the 1.25 mag. These two lenses combine both old and new, wide and long, and provide images that give the photogrrapher soft and hard qualites. The lenses are world-beaters. neelin Posted September 19, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 19, 2007 But if i really had to get down to two Guy, for you that is so implausible as to be not even worth thinking about . I'll bet you'll be buried with more that two lenses. NOTE: have a locked casket as all of Leicadom attending your funeral would pilfer what you're taking to the hereafter. Morten Grathe Posted September 19, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2007 24 + 35 mm
Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 19, 2007 Share #6 Posted September 19, 2007 yes i will need a big lock on my box when i go. Not to go OT but i just started my quit smoking program the new drug called Chantix , great results from what i hear . Hopefully it will do the trick and i can live long enough to see a M12 at least. LOL We really want to rob Vinay and Marks box though, now they have the lenses. ROTFLMAO What is scary is I actually use all of them . In LR you can see your library and you can see in the meta browser the lenses used. be interetsing to see what everybody really uses in 10 thousands shots
norm_snyder Posted September 19, 2007 Share #7 Posted September 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) 28 Summicron & 75 Lux in my case, although I've thought about replacing the 75 with the Summicron, to save weight. For tight, urban locations, I have also considered adding an 18mm Zeiss, and traveling with the 18 + 28 when I want to go wide [Does leaving the 75 at the hotel count as a 2 lens kit?--I guess not!]. Does anyone have experience with the 18mm? NS
Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 19, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 19, 2007 Really tough call between the 75 lux and cron. i went the Lux route and i do really love that lens and my really two favorites are the 28 cron and 75 lux but the Lux has some heft to it
luigi bertolotti Posted September 19, 2007 Share #9 Posted September 19, 2007 28 + 75, no doubt... 35 + 90 was my favourite "light set" at the "old times" of M4 ...
hankg Posted September 19, 2007 Share #10 Posted September 19, 2007 28/2 + 50/1.
carstenw Posted September 19, 2007 Share #11 Posted September 19, 2007 At the moment I am thinking 35 Lux Asph and 75 Cron, but I still need to settle on that. I don't use wide angle that much. I might go 28 Cron and 75 Cron. I will end up with all three, as well as at least one of the Noctilux and 75 Lux for portraits. Most other lenses I could live without, but I think I am a 4-5 lens man.
nryn Posted September 19, 2007 Share #12 Posted September 19, 2007 I'm pretty settled on the 35Lux/75 Cron combo. If I add a third to the bag it'll be either the CV15 or the 24/2.8.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 19, 2007 Share #13 Posted September 19, 2007 Maybe we should have started the absolutely prefered amount of glass. LOL This is tough i really like the Oscar Day bag one body and 5 lenses and go setup
Guest tummydoc Posted September 19, 2007 Share #14 Posted September 19, 2007 yes i will need a big lock on my box when i go. Not to go OT but i just started my quit smoking program the new drug called Chantix , great results from what i hear . Hopefully it will do the trick and i can live long enough to see a M12 at least. LOL Hope so. Cigarette addiction can be very strong, but the physiological component is much smaller than the psychological. It's in the pharmaceutical companies' best self-interest to down-play that fact Once you stop taking the drug, the psychological component will still be there, and unless it's addressed, the treatment will fail and you'll be back on the drug time and again (like I said, in the pharmaceutical companies' interest). The physical withdrawal from nicotine is nothing compared to opiates, but it can be a conditioning factor toward not re-starting the habit. In many cases I've seen, I've come to the casual conclusion that people who go cold turkey are the most motivated to quit and the least likely to relapse. But whatever works for you, there's no doubt that you'll be better off not smoking. Best of luck. Plus, you won't need to clean your sensor as often We really want to rob Vinay and Marks box though, now they have the lenses. ROTFLMAO Don't know about Mark but best wear your pyre-proof suit to my funeral And finally to answer the what-if-only-2-lenses question: WATE and MATE
M6J Posted September 19, 2007 Share #15 Posted September 19, 2007 24mm and 35mm for me please
carstenw Posted September 19, 2007 Share #16 Posted September 19, 2007 I think my carrybag (Oskar One Day) with 28 Cron, 35 Lux Asph and 75 Cron would cover almost everything I would want to do. Add either a WATE or a CV15 for travelling, and a portrait lens, and I am pretty complete. The 90 Macro is just a toy, and the 50 Lux Asph is waiting for the FF M9. jlancasterd Posted September 19, 2007 Share #18 Posted September 19, 2007 A fast 28mm (probably a Miliched CV Ultron) and a Miliched CV15.
stunsworth Posted September 19, 2007 Share #19 Posted September 19, 2007 24mm Elmarit, 35mm ASPH Summicron, then add a 75mm Summicron for a three set lens. That's what I use at least <grin>
