Great little lens for the price though. I have lent my copy to a relative of mine together with an M8.2 and he likes this combo so much that he's reluctant to return it to me. The flare on my cron asph 35 was really bad, especially with its veiling characteristics. The 7A was better. Â I should try and dig up my comparison test shots IIRC one had pincushion distortion, the other barrel. I no longer have either lens , the Cron replaced by an FLE, the 7A by a CV 35 1.4 v2 Â

cboy Posted October 11, 2022 Share #23 Â Posted October 11, 2022 I like the look of the lens, however I'm not liking the styling choice of the 'wen' symbol. If I had that lens I'd be distracted from staring at the glaring symbol everytime I look down on the lens. I don't mind the Chinese character rather the stylistic choice. If the symbol was stylised more in line to the font of surrounding text then it'd be less glaring. However its horses for courses in the look of lenses

It's better than something seen on the 35lux pre asph but much less pronounced, though it's there. And occasionally there's this bizzare small solid rainbow in the frame when there is strong sunlight. My current copy seems to perform pretty nicely, haven't gotten into any problem of sort. Pretty much problem free compared to the previous copy. Who knows maybe I'll encounter some sort of flares in the future.
sometimesmaybe Posted November 4, 2022 Share #26  Posted November 4, 2022 Matt Osborne's review - looks like it's a decent lens, but has some compatibility issues with some M bodies
