if I'm not mistaken, the operational things that the P line usually includes versus the standard release (quieter shutter, screen improvements like touch screen ) were already included in the 'normal ' 10R release. 

for cosmetic changes you have mentioned then yep need to go to black paint

I have held off upgrading one of my Ms to an M10-R from a 240-P in the vain hope there would be a silver chrome M10-R “P” version.

I don’t want a BP version (I changed my MD-262  to M 60s as I don’t like painted bodies or brassing (Heretic, Heretic!))

I’m wondering what the cost is ( if possible) to have Leica replace a chrome M-10R top plate with the M10-P one….🙄
