Hello,

I just got a Leica M2, it was advertised as having been CLA'd but it has some kind of stuff in the viewfinder. It doesn't look like Fungus I don't think, my best guess is haze? Any help identifying it is apricated, please forgive the bad photos it was hard to capture a photo showing it even though its easy to see in person.

Thanks!

It is remaining haze, the CLA obviously was done in a hurry. Either live with it - there is no impact on the photos you shoot - or go for another CLA. I would leave it as it is. If possible, ask the seller for a discount.

Thank you, I don't want to have it CLA'd again because all mechanical aspects are functioning perfectly, It's not effecting my view through the finder at all. I was just worried it could be fungus and get worse.

If the CLAvwas done recently, the camera should be returned to the workshop that did it to give the glass a last wipe.

I'm just not sure it's worth it if its not gonna grow, doesn't effect the view in the finder, and I'm gonna have to deal with shipping, though it would be prettier and could effect resale value.

It does look like the inside of the window has been cleaned with an oily rag and deciding what it is is probably something you can only do by moving the camera around in different light. But some of the haze to me looks maybe like the damage you get to coated glass after fungus has been removed.
