When I visited this gorgeous place, these modern malls with luxury boutiques didn’t exist. The only mall that we were reaching through crowded and very picturesque Chinese neighborhood was “ Peoples Park”. I wonder if it does still exist and what it has become. People’s Park does very much exist and I suspected it will be gazeted as a historic landmark one day. An early post-independence modern ‘brutalist’ building in what still a brave new country. Golden Mile Complex, build not long after, and designed by the same firm, has recently been gazzeted. It is up for sale but the new developers will be required to keep the old structure intact. Incidentally both buildings were designed by the firm I joined in the late 1970s, soon after the latter was completed :-). 1

If you feel like a coffee sometime next week, we can meet at one of the places in Esplanade courtyard. There’s a local coffee place at the side entrance (I hope it’s still there!), If you prefer expresso type place I’m sure there’s one near by. PM me if you’d like that. I better get ready to board that 18 hour flight! Edited April 8, 2022 by vikasmg

Louis Posted April 10, 2022 Share #13509 Posted April 10, 2022 Paul, a set of super activity! It must have been lots of fun to shoot these good fellows! As I am very often using the 35mm TL and find it very sharp, a few of these shots look a little soft to my eyes. Unless you reframed and resized them? Kind regards, Louis

I probably cropped them all slightly, but only to tidy up horizontals or eliminate small things at the edges - certainly nothing to have caused softness. I shall look closer at the originals on a big screen later to check. I agree, it should be very sharp, and the light was bright. In the long run the “Range Rover” strategy will work for you. At a minimum while one is in the repair shop you can drive the other one.
