Sigma is introducing two new wide-angle fixed focal lengths for full-frame cameras (L-mount and Sony E-mount), the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN and SIGMA 24mm F1.4 DG DN.

Both lenses will be launched by end of August and will cost $ 899 /  (SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN) and $ 799 (SIGMA 24mm F1.4 DG DN). Both lenses are available for pre-order at B&H:

Now that I got pulled into the astro rabbit hole I really want a fast ultrawide lens. Looks like the 20mm will be just that.

If you are interested in Astro photography: I like this channel a lot and he compared the two new lenses with some competitors. As far as I can tell the 20mm's main flaw is it's vignette wide open. But I think that's manageable with proper lens profiles in Lightroom (or other tools) and by stopping down a bit. I think that will be the ultrawide I get at some point. Too bad Panasonic didn't release the 18mm yet 😕

hello everyone 

I wanted th check off my Sigma 20mm had the latest software but the Sigma USB dock does not seem to recognize the new lens.

Is this normal? Is the lens too recent to be recognized?

The USB dock has the latest firmware.
