Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been on this forum. I really hope you can help because these 'blinkies' are driving me crazy. Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of them? When I look through the viewfinder, the overexposed parts (whites, blown out highlights) blink and they really annoy me. I've been googling, searching around in this forum but I've not managed to get rid of them.

I've tried setting clipping/zebra to off and the range of whites to the max (253?). I still have them.

Who can please explain me what is going on here. Thanks in advance...

If you press the FN buttom you toggle through different display settings. Only one page shows the overexposure.

You can de-activated each of the 4 page separately.

Page 5: Camera settings

Assistent

Info profile 4 to be deactivated

Hi Andreas, thanks for your quick reply! I will have a look...

I think I have found it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Indeed in the Camera Settings > Capture Assistants > Setting > Info Profile (the one you're trying to change; I currently have only Info Profile 1 activated) > Clipping / Zebra > set to off.

So for now, it works.

Could anyone please explain what is going on here? How does it work and what do the settings mean? Thanks a lot in advance for your answers.

I hate to be that guy, but you really should read the manual.

Are you talking to me? If so, I did and it is still not clear at all...

The problem is that I cannot always set the Clipping / Zebra to 'on'. Why is that? If you can point me to a place in the manual where it tell me that, please enlighten me because I've spent a lot of time looking around and also in the manual. Every time I move to the word 'off' and try to change it, it snaps back to the previous menu. This leads me to believe there is something else I need to set.

So if you or anyone else can help me explain this to me, please do! I would love to know what I'm doing. And the manual does not cut it for me...

Did you set it into  a Profile where you go back often?

PS Manual are not updated, you need to read the PDF or the FW updates too

It is a confusing setting.

The setting "Camera Settings>Capture Assistants>Settings>Info Profile x>Clipping/Zebra" has two options: Off and a clipping value. You select either Off or you select the number. Do not try to change Off to On, you will just select Off. Select the number and press Menu.

Photoworks and SrMi, thank you both for your reactions. I will dig deeper into the profiles and indeed check the info of the FW updates. I honestly forgot about that. And SrMi thanks for explaining one of the exact things I did not get.

Happy shooting guys! 🙏
