fotografr Posted July 24, 2022 Share #1 Posted July 24, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last night we had some very intense storms with deluges of rain, nearly constant lightning for a couple of hours and very high winds. This morning was dead calm, with not a breath of wind, so I walked over to the lake shore with my camera. I was out early so the dog walkers and runners had not yet been along the path. My reward was coming across this young Great Blue Heron, which stood patiently waiting for the right fish to swim within reach. It didn't have to wait very long. About 30 seconds after I shot this I heard a splash and turned to see the heron coming out of the water with a fish, then flying off to a quiet spot to digest it.
