Q2 files from 80mb to 50mb with "Update DNG Preview and Metadata" in Lightroom

Well this is technically a Lightroom question, but my Q2 files go from 80+ mb to 50 mb when I press the "Update DNG Preview and Metadata".

Does anyone know if this is bad in any way?

Q2’s DNG files are uncompressed. The mentioned Lightroom operation compresses the DNG file losslessly. 
It’s not bad in any way.

I only came across this recently, in another forum. So pleased as I've always bemoaned the 80Mb+ DNGs compared to my old Sony A7R3 lossless RAWs at 40Mb. Storage is cheap YES but free NO. Haha.

Can you batch perform this file size reduction or do you have to do it one image at a time?

Just checked that batch perform works. You can select all images to compress and invoke Update DNG Previews and Metadata.

Any idea if there's a way to do this in Lightroom (not Lightroom Classic)?

And I’m presuming the obvious that you could go through this procedure for any DNG images shot on any camera?

Yes. However, some cameras, like the Leica M series, compress the DNGs before writing them out. In that case, I do not see any benefit in running the procedure.
