kengai Posted July 15, 2022 Share #1 Â Posted July 15, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am looking for a medium tele, 180mm or more, for my SL2-S: what is the best choice?
Advertisement Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Hi kengai, Take a look here R lenses for Sl2-S. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Reddy Posted July 20, 2022 Share #2  Posted July 20, 2022 I got the APO 180mm f2.8 which is amazingly good, the other one worth looking into is the APO 280mm f4. Both lenses can add the TC if required.
ph. Posted July 21, 2022 Share #3 Â Posted July 21, 2022 If you have the apoextender, the 100mm/2,8 apo macro is quite good and does forcus close. Â p.
jansjo Posted July 23, 2022 Share #4 Â Posted July 23, 2022 A cheaper lens is the r APO 180mm/3.4 which is good at distance, not so good at close focus. The APO 180mm/2.8 is better, very good at f/4, the 3.5 lens has to be stopped more down to get about the same result. If you add the 2x APO extender, you get a good 360mm on both lenses. davidmknoble Posted July 27, 2022 Share #5  Posted July 27, 2022 @kengai while at the edge of your range, the Leica R 80-200mm f/4 is a very compact lens, does not cost too much, and typically has the ROM available to translate information into the EXIF.  It is paired with the 35-70 f/4 lens and draws very well because it is fairly current (as R lenses go). For a fixed lens, I also use the Leica R APO 280mm f/2.8 (much larger than the APO 280 f/4).  I use it on a tripod, and it works with the APO 1.4x extender and the APO 2.0x extender.  It is one of the few lenses the 1.4x works with.  In reality, the smaller APO 280mm f/4 is sharper, but is also about 30-40% more in cost. I really like the Leica R APO 70-180mm f/2.8 lens, which is heavy, but draws incredibly well and has the strongest color of the three lenses. Already mentioned is the Leica R APO 180mm f/2.8, which I give two thumbs up! I have used all of these lenses on the SL2-S.
Daniel81 Posted August 10, 2022 Share #6 Â Posted August 10, 2022 The R APO 180 Elmarit coupled with the SL2-S is a truly stellar combination . . . . I Love it.
Ornello Posted August 11, 2022 Share #7 Â Posted August 11, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) 250mm and 350mm Telyts are also very good.
