I learn to adjust the speed in most cases 60 to 250, then "at eye level" change aperture (easier for me, Leitz/Leica lens always in the right direction following arrows). I always do it like this. I went to see that M6 and went home with it 🙂 Quick tests around the house are very much supporting my previous impressions in the shop so far. The size is about perfect and I’m getting used to the weight (for now it’s with CV 35/2 Ultron). The shutter dial is fine, but my index finger is not overly happy so let’s see how I get used to it. Looking for the viewfinder flare I was surely able to find it, but I’ll need to see how much of an issue it will be in practice. The camera seems to be in a great working condition, but I’ll do a few film tests to be sure. I’ll also check what the MP viewfinder upgrade costs, but I’ll provably skip it if I won’t find any other needs for service. I’ll let my impressions settle in and will come back after running a few rolls of film through it. Perhaps that would be helpful for others in the future.  Congratulations! You now own a classic that will no doubt only increase in value.  Looking forward to reading your thoughts after you have put a few rolls through it. I wouldn’t rush to upgrade the viewfinder.  I have never found it to be it to be an issue on mine.  For the cost of the upgrade I would rather have another M camera, like an M3. Similarly I wouldn’t rush to spend huge money on Leica lenses.
ktmrider2 Posted July 12, 2022 Share #63 Â Posted July 12, 2022 (edited) Ya, there are a lot of GREAT lenses in M mount from Zeiss, Voightlander and others. Â The only thing they don't bring to the table is the "bling" of being a Leica branded product. Â I will probably be burned for that comment but I have and use lenses that fit my needs, Â including Leica lenses. grahamc Posted July 18, 2022 Share #64  Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) Hello.  Congratulations OP on your brilliant purchase I'm currently travelling with M6 TTL and MP.   I commented previously in this thread that I far preferred MP. I am GREATLY enjoying both cameras and just wanted to mention for future readers that the best Leica film camera is the one you happen to have in your hand .    My M6 TTL gets the most use, I'm not sure why! All the best G Edited July 18, 2022 by grahamc
