Advertisement Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Hi Sandokan, Take a look here Uli. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted August 15, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2006 Ravi, very nice portrait. It looks a little flat to me though. If you like, you could try taking it into Photoshop and hitting AutoLevels to see how it looks. It looked good to me
Sandokan Posted August 15, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted August 15, 2006 Thanks John, I have done so and it is better. Now when you pay for a professional scanning service, why dont they get it right? I also tried in Lightroom, but it looked better from PS. Also, is there a good way to add borders (and a signature) to a photo (I do the image size change but only in PS). jmr Posted August 15, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 15, 2006 Ravi, that looks much better, the blue tint has gone too. Nice photo, I hope your friend is pleased - he should be.
andybarton Posted August 15, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 15, 2006 Also, is there a good way to add borders (and a signature) to a photo (I do the image size change but only in PS). The moral is to not rely on someone else to do your scanning - if you want full control you have to learn how to do it yourself, I'm afraid, otherwise you will end up with compromises that you didn't want. Do you have the full PS? If so, and you want to add a border, "CTRL/CMD-A" to select all in your completed image, then go Edit/Stroke Set the parameters for the border you'd like and click OK. Make sure the setting is to "inside" I always show my shots with a 4 pixel black border - unless I forget. If you want a real signature on your images (think carefully... ) you can scan in your sig and use that image to create a brush stroke in PS. The photoshoptv guys showed how to do this a month or so back. Should be available via iTunes podcasts
