gabriel Posted September 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I now have a 180mm Tewe viewfinder (40 years old) which enables me to frame the 135 lens correctly on the M8 as 180mm. As the 135 f4 cannot be coded is there any advantage in using the uv/ir filter on it with the no lens detection setting on the menu.
Advertisement Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hi gabriel, Take a look here M8 and 135 f4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hsw Posted September 13, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2007 You'll occasionally have magenta cast on synthetic blacks and unnatural foliage colours if you don't use the filter. The lens coding is, as I understand it, mostly intended to correct cyan corners and vignetting in the wide angle lenses; not important in focal lengths above 35mm. Cheers, Henry
hdrmd Posted September 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 13, 2007 I have a similar lens and I always use the filter because of the magenta tint in unfiltered photos of black synthetics. Regards. DR
jaapv Posted September 13, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 13, 2007 And there is no reason to get it coded because at this focal length there is no chance of cyan drift at all.
