Alberti Posted May 23, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) In Rotterdam, from next week May 26th for a month running, there will be a skywalk through down-town: the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk. Also there are extra activities in the weekend June 3-5. The skywalk was designed by the architects of #MVRDV. Here is a link in English. In fact, there will be a Festival in the weekend of June 3-5, and Luchtpark Hofbogen is the festival heart. This is a cross-over through the sky across the former Hofplein railway station. It looks natural to suggest to join in this walk as a group, and enjoy ourselves with the extra activities. There are also other roof-top paths in Rotterdam. And share that date of June 4th to visit there places together There will be a guided tour of the Rooftop in Dutch - but your host and others for sure can simultaneously translate keynotes into English , oder auf Deutsch , et même en Français un peu as wished .. 😁 [Tickets € 3.50, and there will also be refreshments along that steep climbing route] Practical info: a timeslot has to be booked for the group! Some slots are full already. no tripods (for those wanting to overcome hi-res sensor problems ,,) please someone suggest some lunch and diner place the weather will be fine, 16 degrees, cloudy/sunshine. Not a place for those with occasional vertigo ; good boots are needed Around the Central Station, the views are also spectacular. Such as from the Groothandelsgebouw (I'll have to check that, if the rooftop was open a few years ago; otherwise there my be some other venue - any ideas??) So who would like to jump in? A fortnight is short day as we say in Holland 😅 but I hope several might be able to arrange something. Welcome, dear visitor! pegelli Posted June 6, 2022 Share #11 Posted June 6, 2022 I'll be back from our Newfoundland vacation mid June and I would like to see some of this if I can find the time before it closes. My grandfather used to run his business from the "Groothandelsgebouw" so that's certainly a building I would like to climb. I'll let you know if and when I can make it, maybe meet for coffee or a beer?
