So how often you send in your Leica for adjustments?

For the last years I didnt have any M body which needed adjustment. I think I sent in 2 lenses over the last 10 years. Some older designs do show focus shift though. Thats why I rather use the 35 FLE instead of previous 35mm/1.4 lens, or why I sold my 75/1.4 many years ago.

Never. Since 1976. Only the occasional repair mostly after dropping the camera  oh yes, once my M240 started misfocusing. There was a piece of lint in the roller cam. Pulled it out and all was fine.  And once after a ride in a very vibrating Cessna. Actually I was even more out of adjustment than the camera.

Yeah, I wonder about that sometimes (or a chunk of dried-out grease or similar - and on the lens cam as well as the camera cam), but have never actually experienced it.

Wow, I would rather buy used cameras from you guys than the new ones I’ve been getting! That said, my M only needed realignment once in 8 years.

I agree with those who would only send in cameras for servicing when it looks like something needs done. That said, servicing can identify problems you didn't know you had. I recently sent my Leica II Model D together with the Elmar 5cm it came with to Malcolm Taylor. I wanted the rangefinder on the body cleaned and refurbished, and the infinity tab on the lens was bent so that it would not lock. He found that the body was slightly distorted - he guesses that the blow that damaged the lens also damaged the body. Needless to say, he straightened both out. It's great to have them both back, working, calibrated and clean.

My M9 was horrible. Impossible calibrate the body with the different lenses. It was several times in Solms.

My M240 and M10 did always work like a charm. No need to send them in. Same with the analog bodies.
