Good morning everyone. I ask a question that surely many have asked. I have recently switched from the M10 to the M11 and I own the visoflex 020 for the M10. I read in the M11 instruction manual that this can cause damage to the recent camera. It's true? Anyone use it?

Thank you for your answers,

Rob

Indeed it does not work.  Perhaps understandable if the new unit offered a large advantage over the 020, but frankly, I barely notice the difference. For a company that pride's itself on supporting lenses dating back nearly a century, it seems not to care one whit about batteries or EVFs, neither of which are priced as disposable items. I do find it somewhat infuriating that rather than entice you into purchase through providing clearly superior performance, they fail to provide backward compatibility and force you into it.  That the new unit can work on the 10, but not vice versa with the 020, tells you everything you need to know about their motivation in this sphere.

To my understanding, the 020 is supposed to be supported on the M11 at a later time with the firmware update "autumn 2022" which just came for the M10-P, M10M, M10-R and in thise cameras result that the new EVF2 for M11 can be used on those.

But so far, no 020 on the M11.

(Didn't read it could possibly damage the M11. It fits straight onto it like hand in glove, so surprised if it damaged it - which it hasn't so far when I have tied to put it on).
