sebatx Posted May 6, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) We have a 2 or 3 year old Q, just this weekend we noticed the lens barrel is loose. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, was it expensive to fix> --Steve
Advertisement Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Hi sebatx, Take a look here Leica Q has loose lens barrel. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Siriusone59 Posted May 8, 2022 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2022 If it's the outer part of the lens and loose where it would be attached to the body(if it were a detachable lens), then you have a problem that should be sent in for repair. If it makes a slight rattling noise if shaken and you can move the inner part of the barrel just a tiny bit....that is normal. The optical image stabilization actually moves part of the inner lens barrel. There are many threads on this forum that discuss the OIS and rattling Q issues in greater detail. The Q is a excellent camera and I've enjoyed using mine.
stuny Posted May 8, 2022 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2022 Get it to Leica right away - It will get worse, and you'll not be able to focus. The full charge that I had for repair, tax and delivery home was about US$350. 1
