Yakult_XX Posted May 6, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry for writing some sad news in my first post here! I bought my Leica M9 (serial no. 3977145) and Summilux 50mm (serial no. 04663585) back in 2017 and unfortunately during me moving houses not so long ago, some one broke into my old house and stolen the camera. I have already notified the police and informed Leica, hoping that they can keep an eye out for it if the person tries to sell it online or something. I'm eternally grateful to anyone who provides information on the camera! Thank you to everyone who'd be able to help in anyway! Also hope everyone takes care of their camera as it's really painful to let it go that way when you loved it!

stray cat Posted May 6, 2022 Share #2 Posted May 6, 2022 Very sorry to hear that Yakult, and hope you have good fortune and get it back. Was it insured?
Guest Posted May 6, 2022 Share #3 Posted May 6, 2022 Maybe also inform Camera Exchange. Good luck!

Archiver Posted May 12, 2022 Share #5 Posted May 12, 2022 That really sucks. The police will check with local pawn shops, but you can, too. Everything from the basic pawn shops to organized chains like Cash Converters. Start with your immediate area and widen the circle if you don't find anything. Check the Facebook marketplace listings in your area along with Gumtree. They might be dumb enough to try to flog it on Gumtree or eBay. Good luck, I hope you get it all back. A friend of mine’s place got robbed just after he renovated and freshly moved in and the idiots stole his check-book, wrote themselves checks for 25k and deposited them into their own bank accounts. I hope your 9 turns up unscathed. You might have to do a lot of the legwork yourself because not every police force will devote much time and effort to a burglary. In my friend’s case, they only got involved when the bank fraud occurred; It was my friend who got the names of the guys from the bank and fed that lead to police etc. His insurance finally covered some stolen goods but a lot of it came with strings attached like “go buy the new items first and then we will reimburse you”. Really sucks.

Really sucks. Not exactly quantum physicists, were they?? 🙄 @Yakult_XX Welcome to the forum - wish it were under better circumstances. I hope you will have good fortune in recovering your M9 and 50 Summilux.
Archiver Posted June 18, 2022 Share #9 Posted June 18, 2022 Another avenue is this: https://www.stolencamerafinder.com/ Drop in a jpeg that contains your camera's EXIF data and it will scour the internet for any images online that contain your camera's serial number. 3
rivi1969 Posted June 23, 2022 Share #10 Posted June 23, 2022 Terrible news. You should post the serial number so people would know if your camera shows up!
