But it's hardly really crowded at this time. And if so, only in the well-known places. Apart from that, you are often alone. It is no problem getting a table in cafes and restaurants. We think Cannaregio is particularly beautiful. There is still real life here, there are small shops, cafes, small restaurants. Renting a small apartment here is perfect. And don't forget to buy a 3 or 7 day vaporetto ticket. You can then drive back and forth all day long. If you really want to take a gondola ride: There is a very cheap alternative: Traghetto. The gondola ferries across the Grand Canal. Lens doesn't really matter. Take with you what you feel most comfortable with. In any case, there are enough motives... My favorite thing to do in Venice is to have a film with me. The city somehow fits an M2 or M4. Plus an Italian Ferrania P30... Welcome, dear visitor!
