MacFran Posted April 30, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) My one and only camera has been an M6 for the last twelve years. My interest in photography ebbs and flows, but this most recent tide has finally gotten me to develop my own film. I acquired some Ixmoo reloadable cassettes, which I think are really cool and seem like they will last forever. I have been pondering buying an older R body camera for some telephoto and macro work. Are any of the R bodies compatible with the brass reloadable cassettes?

a.noctilux Posted April 30, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2022 Welcome here. Sorry, no Leicaflex or R can use this reloadable IXMOO cassette. The rear door and closing mechanism (which would open the cassette) do not allow that.
davidmknoble Posted April 30, 2022 Share #3 Posted April 30, 2022 And the IXMOO is not compatible with all m6, only the older ones. Typically the base plate has a notch in the turn mechanism allowing use - but only if the base plate is original and not swapped out.
MacFran Posted May 1, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted May 1, 2022 I was fortunate enough to have one that has the notch to open and close the cassette. The first time I did it, it felt like an “ah-ha” moment, thinking, “that’s why the baseplate closes like that”.
